4. Seizures or Sudden Collapse

A sudden collapse or a seizure is a clear and frightening sign that your dog needs to see a vet immediately. An emergency visit is essential for a first-time seizure, any seizure lasting more than two minutes, or multiple seizures in a row. During a seizure, keep your dog safe by moving furniture away from them, but keep your hands away from their mouth. A sudden faint or inability to stand up is equally critical, as it could indicate a severe cardiac event or massive internal bleeding. These alarming neurological or physical events can be caused by poisoning, epilepsy, a head injury, or a critical failure of an internal organ, all of which require urgent medical assessment and intervention.
